Don't buy salad dressing at the grocery store! Wonderfully simple and natural recipe for tasty buttermilk ranch salad dressing with no added sugars or preservatives.

Organic Buttermilk Ranch Salad Dressing Recipe

From the kitchen of Dr. Randall Hansen

What follows is a fairly simple recipe for making the best all-natural buttermilk ranch dressing -- with no added sugars, preservatives, or other ingredients. Keto-friendly.

It takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare (a bit longer if you make your own mayo and buttermilk) and is ready for use or can be chilled for later use. I suggest placing the dressing in several mason jars.

Ingredients

Purchase organic ingredients to keep your salad dressing as clean as possible.

  • 1 jar of 32 oz. mayonnaise (or make your own*)

  • 2 1/2 cups of buttermilk (or make your own**)

  • 3 teaspoons of minced dried onion

  • 10 tablespoons of dried parsley

  • 3-4 teaspoons of minced garlic or Garlic Gold nuggets (or five small cloves of garlic, minced, with 1 tablespoon of avocado or olive oil)

  • 1/2 teaspoon of crushed chilly flakes and/or chili hot sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper

  • 1+ teaspoon Mrs. Dash "Table Blend" or similar to taste

  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt to taste

  • 1 16 oz sour cream

Directions

Put all the ingredients in a bowl, starting with the mayonnaise and buttermilk, and blend together with a whisk. Ladle into vessels and refrigerate.

* It's easy to make your own mayonnaise, but you need an immersion blender and...

Mix the first five ingredients; then very slowly add the oil as you are blending until you get a rich and creamy blend.

  • 3 eggs (room temperature)

  • 1/2 teaspoon of mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt (or other salt)

  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • 1-1/2 cups avocado oil (simply the best; or high-end olive oil)

** It's also very easy to make your own buttermilk...

Pour lemon juice into the milk, mix, and let stand for about 10 minutes. Done.

  • 1 cup of whole milk, organic when possible (or half-and-half or heavy cream)

  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
